Each product is named after one of our dogs. Avery's products are the ones you use directly. Ember's products work quietly in the background.

Avery's VPN

In development

A VPN encrypts your connection and hides your IP address, so your internet provider and the networks you join can't see what you're doing online.

Ember's DNS

In development

DNS is the internet's address book. Ember's DNS looks up websites for you and blocks trackers and invasive ad networks before they ever load.

  • Stops tracking at the source, before it reaches your browser
  • Works on phones, computers, or your whole home network
  • Nothing to install on most devices, just a settings change

Ads based on the page you're reading, not on tracking you, aren't blocked. We'll publish the full list of what we allow and why.

Who we are

Two co-founders in Oklahoma who got tired of technology that treats people like the product.

We're Seth and Jordan. Seth builds the technology, and Jordan runs coordination and outreach. We started Avery and Ember's Technologies because privacy tools shouldn't be confusing, overpriced, or quietly collecting the very data they promise to protect.

We're a for-profit business, and we'll always be upfront about how we make money: from subscriptions, never from selling your information.

What we believe

Our motto is "high quality, long lasting, and no AI slop." Here's what that means in practice.

Your data is yours
We collect only what we need to run the service, and we never sell it. Privacy should be the default, not an upgrade.
Honest beats impressive
We'll tell you what our products can't do, not just what they can. No fine print designed to trip you up.
A human-run company, for humans
AI is a great tool for catching what people miss, but it shouldn't replace human creativity. We'll never offer AI image or video generators, and no AI will ever make a hiring, firing, or leadership decision here. A computer can't be held responsible, so it doesn't get to decide.
Built to last
We'd rather build a few things that work well for years than a lot of things that don't. We run on Linux and prefer refurbished hardware to cut down on e-waste.
